What SdA is
The course in Scienze dell’Architettura lasts three years and trains a graduate capable of collaborating in architectural production, either as a freelancer or as a manager in public or private organisations.
Graduates will have a general culture in all fields of architecture, with particular regard to technical-applicative knowledge relating to:
- the techniques of architecture and its construction;
- the basic knowledge in the fields of architectural design;
- the representation and survey of architecture;
- the history of architecture;
- urban planning;
- the restoration of architecture;
- the technology of architecture;
- interior design;
- landscape architecture;
- industrial design.
The degree course comprises a total of 20 exams. Teaching is organised in 2 semesters each year and a total of 180 educational credits (cfu) are acquired by attending single or integrated courses, laboratories, optional activities, internships, and the final exam (degree thesis).
The courses are calibrated according to the time allocated for classroom activities (lectures, seminars, practical tests) and autonomous learning, so that the student can pass the exam at the end of the semester and, in any case, in the year in which the course is located. The ATELIERS in the third year (sixth semester) allow students to choose the group of disciplines closest to their interests and to orientate themselves for possible subsequent studies (master’s degree or first-level master’s).
Attendance at courses is compulsory: in order to sit the exam, students must have acquired 60% of the attendance in single-discipline and integrated courses and 75% of the attendance in laboratories. Examinations are only taken in timetabled sessions.
