Admission test

Admission to the Degree Course in Architectural Sciences is nationally scheduled and takes place through a selective test. Generally, the call for applications is published in May or June and the test is held in July. If positions remain open, a second admission test is held in September.
The topics covered in the test include logic, general culture, text comprehension, art history, mathematics and physics, and architectural design.
For information on the entrance test, please consult the ‘ADMISSION CALL’ notice on the homepage and the ‘Inscription’ section, or the website www.unina.it .

Activities at your choice

Students of the three-year degree course in Architectural Sciences may acquire CFU through student-choice activities, by selecting courses from among the courses of at least 4 CFU provided by all the three-year degree courses and from among the courses of the first three years of the five-year single-cycle degree courses of the University of Naples Federico II.

Students can also choose from the List of Chosen Courses that will be periodically updated on the DIARC (LINK).

General indications:
CFUs acquired through elective courses will be recognised by means of a profit assessment, which is always evaluated and recorded by means of a report in which not the grade but the suitability is ascertained.
Given this general condition, in order to support students’ choices, a list of courses consistent with the educational objectives of the Degree Course in Architectural Sciences is proposed, from which students may make their choice. It is understood that, in addition to the courses proposed in this list, students may select courses for the acquisition of CFUs from any of the courses offered by the University of Federico II, provided that they are consistent with their training pathway.

Case 1: Student of the Course of Studies in Architectural Sciences who chooses to attend a course for the acquisition of CFUs by choice of the Course of Studies in Architectural Sciences included in the list proposed in point (d).

Case 2: Student of the Degree Course in Architectural Sciences
who chooses to attend a course for the acquisition of optional CFUs included in other Courses of Study at Diarc.

Case 3: Student of the Degree Course in Architectural Sciences
who chooses to attend a course for the acquisition of CFUs NOT of Diarc, but of other Departments of the University of Naples Federico II.

Case 4: Students from other departments of the University of Naples Federico II who choose to attend a course provided by DIARC.

Regualation HERE

Case 1

  • Please refer to the list proposed in point (d) and, in order to better orient your choice, consult the “Course sheet” for the course you are oriented towards.
  • The Schedule can be consulted on the UNINA website of the lecturer delivering the course. Check the programme, the year and semester of the course in which the course is taught and the number of CFUs awarded.
  • Once you have made your choice, contact the course provider to inform him/her that you have selected your course for the acquisition of the CFUs of your choice and to inform you of the number of CFUs you need to obtain.

Case 2

  • Students may select courses for the acquisition of CFUs from a minimum of 4 CFUs in the first three years of other study courses at Diarc.
  • It is advisable to consult the “Teaching Sheet” following the instructions in Case 1.
  • Once you have made your choice, contact the course provider to inform him/her that you have selected your course for the acquisition of the CFUs of your choice and to inform you of the number of CFUs you need to obtain.

Case 3

  • Students are free to select courses for the acquisition of CFUs from among the minimum 4 CFUs of the first three years of other Departments of the University of Naples Federico IINON included in list d).
  • It is advisable to consult the “Teaching Sheet” following the instructions in Case 1.
  • Once the course has been chosen, propose your selection to the Coordinator of the Degree Course in Architectural Sciences (Prof. N. Flora) and to the person in charge of the Commission for Choice-Based Training Credits (Prof. M. Giammetti, email: mariateresa.giammetti@unina.it), in order to allow the assessment of the coherence of your choice with the educational objectives of the Degree Course and to obtain prior authorisation to attend the course.
  • The proposal must be sent by e-mail to the Coordinator of the Course of Studies in Architectural Sciences (Prof. N. Flora, email: nicola.flora@unina.it) and to the person in charge of the Commission for Formative Credits by Choice (Prof. M. Giammetti, email: mariateresa.giammetti@unina.it) indicating: a) the name, surname and matriculation number of the proposing student; title of the proposed course, the teacher who is the holder of the course, Course of Studies and Department of reference; Course outline and relative CFUs. The person in charge of the Commission for Formative Credits by Choice will forward by e-mail the authorisation or refusal to attend the course. The authorisation will also be sent by e-mail to the Student Secretariat, Teaching Area (Dr Daniela Di Vita, e-mail: daniela.divita@unina.it). For Case 3, it is therefore necessary to receive prior authorisation before starting to attend the chosen course.
  • Once you have received authorisation, contact the course provider to inform them that you have selected their course for the acquisition of the CFUs of your choice and to inform them of the number of CFUs you need to obtain.

Case 4

  • It is open to students from other Departments of the University of Naples Federico II to select DIARC courses for the acquisition of elective CFUs.
  • In this case, it will be the responsibility of the lecturer contacted for the provision of CFUs to obtain information on the procedures laid down by the student’s Department of origin for the provision of courses and the registration of profitability.
  • SIt will be the student’s responsibility to follow the lecturer’s instructions on how the course should be conducted and how to achieve profit.
  • Once the activities have been completed, the lecturer must record the acquired aptitude by means of a specially generated digital examination report for the registration of profitability aptitude related to the CFUs of choice, in which not the grade but the aptitude judgement will be reported.

Case of digital record of suitability:

  • The procedure to be followed is the same as that used for finalising profit examinations: a) connect to the UNINA examination report site and log in with your credentials; b) create a session by selecting the course that corresponds to the course provided; c) view the report to be completed and add the student’s student number; d) on the screen showing the result of the examination, tick the box ‘successful’; e) close, digitally sign and send the report.

Once the digital examination report has been completed and transmitted, the lecturer must send an e-mail to Dr. DiVita (e-mail: daniela.divita@unina.it) in which he/she will indicate: a) name of the lecturer and title of the assignment; b) first name, surname, student’s matriculation number; c) date of the examination; d) CFUs awarded.

Case of digital report NOT recording eligibility:

  • If, for technical reasons, the platform does not allow the examination to be recorded by ticking the ‘aptitude’ box, the lecturer must assign a mark, as for profit examinations, sign and transmit the report. At the same time, the teacher must send an e-mail to the Student secretariat, Teaching Area, to the attention of Dr Daniela Di Vita (e-mail: daniela.divita@unina.it) in which he/she must indicate: a) name of the teacher and title of the assignment; b) name, surname, student’s matriculation number; c) date of the exam; d) CFUs awarded.
  • In the event that the lecturer holds examinations at the same time both for students who have taken the course for the purpose of gaining the CFUs of their choice and for students who have taken it because it is included in their curriculum, it will be the lecturer’s responsibility to complete two separate shirts.
  • Should the student obtain fewer CFUs than those provided by the course, the lecturer will be responsible for pointing this out in the email sent to the Student Teaching Area Secretariat.
  • The procedure indicated for the registration of profitability is valid for both DIARC lecturers and lecturers from other departments of the University.
  • Only courses of at least 4 CFU can be selected for the acquisition of student-choice CFUs.
  • Should the student obtain less than 4 CFU, he/she must in any case choose a course of at least 4 CFU. Once the qualification has been obtained, it will be the responsibility of the lecturer to inform the Student Teaching Area Secretariat (Dr Daniela Di Vita, e-mail: daniela.divita@unina.it) of the actual number of CFUs to be recorded.
  • Should the student take fewer CFUs than those envisaged for the chosen course, it is advisable for him/her to point this out to the lecturer in charge of the chosen course in order to verify a possible diversification of the programme in view of the reduced number of credits to be taken. This is a possible but not mandatory condition.

Traineeship

UPDATE: The traineeship is no longer active from AY 2023-24. For those enrolled in previous years, it remains MANDATORY.

The traineeship has a FORMative value, because it aims to deepen and broaden the knowledge acquired during the course of study, and an ORIENTATIVE value, because it provides the opportunity for direct knowledge of the professional reality.
It must be carried out from the THIRD year and lasts 75 hours (3 cfu).
